Hold the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle and gently brush your teeth with short up-and-down strokes. Brush the side of your teeth facing out, the side facing your tongue, and the top of your teeth. Gently brush your tongue as well, as this removes bacteria.

What are the benefits of flossing?

Plaque is a slightly sticky, colorless substance containing bacteria that covers your teeth. These bacteria use carbohydrates to produce acids that break down the teeth’s enamel. If plaque isn’t removed daily, it can build up into a harder substance called calculus that can damage your gums as well.
